Little Treasures Parent & Toddler Playgroup
Every Monday during school term time, our playgroup meets in the Parochial Hall 10:30am through to 12 noon. Open to all members of the community, this group helps to give parents and minders time to unwind and have fun and safe environment. Often raising children at this early stage in life is both exhausting and isolating. Come and enjoy adult conversation over tea/coffee and a jammy scone! Every week there is group singing of favourite children’s songs, celebration of birthdays, and an interactive craft. All these things work together to give children social skills at a young age and an appreciation of the goodness of God’s love for everyone.
On the second Sunday of the month during School term time, Funday Sunday is like a Bible Holiday Club that is held in our Parochial Hall. For ages 4-12, It begins at 11:15am, to allow parents to leave off their children and attend the 11:30am Service in Kilgarriffe. A crèche is also held on this Sunday in Kilgarriffe Church to allow parents some time out with God.
The Club itself is organized by a team of helpers from within our parish. The event begins with some gathering games, usually using a colourful parachute. After singing some fun and meaningful worship songs, the Bible theme of the time together is introduced. A Bible story is read, and video clips of the story are frequently used. To give participants time to think about all they have heard, several age-appropriate crafts are presented and explained. Children then have the opportunity to make their craft to take home with them.
New children are always welcome. Parents/guardians must register their children at the door at the start of the event.
There is a long history of active youthwork in our parish. Youth Club meets every second Sunday evening at 6:50pm at the Parochial Hall. Each month there is a outward bound activity, which could mean going Ice-skating, orienteering, ten-pin bowling etc. Also each month time is spent looking at what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in today’s world. They have just recently completed the Nua series on the Christian Faith. Youth Club also links in to the diocesan youthwork. Each autumn they spend a weekend together on Cape Clear Island, have inter youth club competitions, stay up all night to watch the Easter Sunrise at the Warren beach, Rosscarberry.

Mothers' Union is an international Christian charity that seeks to support families of all faiths and none through practical outreach, prayer and advocating family friendly policies within both government and public life. By supporting marriage and family life, especially through times of adversity, we tackle the most urgent needs challenging relationships and communities.
Our members are not all mothers, or even all women, but are single, married, parents, grandparents or young adults who are just beginning to express their social conscience. For all 4.1 million members in 83 countries what Mothers' Union provides is a network through which they can serve Christ in their own community through prayer, financial support and actively working at grassroots level in programmes that meet local needs.
